Cracked Windshield
Hello all.....just logging my complaint: 2022 110, 7,500 miles, windscreen cracked for no reason at all while vehicle was stationary on drive. Viewed from driver's seat (RHD)....about at 3 o'clock position. Was informed by LR that there was a stone chip beneath the A pillar trim....but stone hadn't touched the trim itself, so totally impossible explanation in my view!!
Booked in next week for replacement through insurance, but a google will bring to light the growing disquiet in the USA, where law firms seem to be getting involved.
100% design fault imo.
Mu nephew's 110 had a cracked sunroof that just appeared out of nowhere, followed a week later by his windscreen. Both replaced through insurance.
The only time in 40 ears of driving that I have seen similar issues was with Honda Civics. This was caused by the bodyshell flexing. I wonder if this LR problem has a similar cause??

Well you guys just scared me enough to check my Glass Insurance coverage.
I'm still a bit burned on having to pay a hefty glass deposit to replace my trade-in vehicle's windshield ('18 Volvo XC60) a mere 3 weeks before my Defender arrived.
Similar story, I got stone chipped on the highway, big weather changes, windshield popped.

I’ll say this- it just seems odd that so many have had this issue and so early on in ownership. Mine happened on week one and I brought it to safelite within 30 minutes. They did their fix and it lasted about an hour before it was 2 feet long. Oddly, not a single change since then. It’s almost like the stress was released and all was good.
that noted, I was able to get insurance to replace it OEM. The problem is getting them. Mine happened in September and the part took 7 weeks to come in. Then the install takes a while to line up. I couldn’t get an appointment before mid December.

Mine, it got a 12" crack the very first day, very first drive, with a Panoramic Roof. On I-17 following a line of slow movers, the Pilot gasoline tanker swerved onto the shoulder making a rooster tail of debris, bouncing onto the 4 cars in front of me, Even with all those blockers a largish someday to be meteorite, whacked into the right side right on the edge. Not only was it a startling sound, but it went from 1"chip crack to 12" in about 3 minutes. I think the panoramic roof allows the car to get into a "cringe position" trying to avoid future planetoids.
Safelight could do it immediately up here in the boondocks, even though I have three cameras, apparently, looking through along with the heating element and solar guard. I declined with them, since it had to go back to the dealership for camera calibration anyhow. So back it went, no delay, no wait. Took most of a morning and was free with USAA. Eyeballed the bill it was something north of $2,700 to them. After that, even with the snowplows flinging all kinds of pea sized gravel at me, no further chips or cracks and all the gizmos peering through the glass seem content, panoramic roof having no effect on its integrity.

not sure I trust that possible cause. I’ve had SO many cars / trucks with sunroofs and not a single issue. I’m thinking it’s a glass & install quality issue.
The glass is Sekurit, who has been the Porsche OEM forever so I'm guessing it's not a glass quality issue. It might relate to the vertical orientation of the windscreen. Had to replace a Sekurit windshield on my old Porsche (less upright orientation) for the first time after 300k mi.
