Default Damage or Faulty front right sensor

I got up one day and saw this red box around my cameras in the defender 90 and all of my sensors except the rear weren't working, there were no error's messages. I took it to the dealership and they say the front right sensor is damaged and needs to be replaced. And the car instead of showing which sensor is faulty, it disable the rest of the sensors. Now when I looked at it its seems chipped and in the replacement quote it says it's "damage internal electrical failure" and to replace the right outer sensor with a quote of 450$ to replace it. But come to think of it the sensor is in the front bumper shouldn't it be designed to withstand flying rocks and getting hit by them? As the report says it is internal damage and there is no ingress in it so what do you guys think. Did the sensor break because of the rock chip or it's a faulty sensor with bad internals from the manufacturer?
