There are many options for dash cams out there, some good, some not so good. I went to Amazon to read about the Fitcamx, and found some quirky writeups. Apparently, some of these Asian based companies do not have access to a translator for their product description. Reading through the seller’s technical info gets a little wonky, with some purchasers having difficulty getting proper support or return responses. Which is why I went with a Garmin unit. Their technical info, users manual and installation instructions are written coherently and reaching someone for support or questions usually results in a satisfactory response. Buying many of these products on Amazon makes one realize the scope of where a large number of electronics come from, but having purchased products with nearly impossible to follow instructions gets old. I’m usually left to slog through it on my own. Often when shopping Amazon, I click on the seller’s info and if I realize that it comes from China, I’ll seek an alternative.

Timely video just dropped from Project Farm:

Lots of the Amazon brands tested here. I've had good luck with the Blackvue line of cameras.

I installed the Fitcamx in our newly acquired 110 yesterday and am impressed. I only installed the main/front camera and will get to installing the included rear unit in a few days. The installation took about five minutes...seriously. Routing the rear camera's cable will take much, much more time, lol. Getting the iPhone app to connect did take another 5-10 minutes as I struggled with connectivity, but was finally able to get everything functioning properly. My previous dashcam experiences always included integrated displays, which I prefer. This is the wife's vehicle and she has no preference, so all good there. As you can see, it looks factory.

One tiny gripe is that the LED lights stay on and one of them flashes. My wife didn't mention it, but she hasn't driven at night either. I ended up putting a small piece of electrical tape over the offending lights (three of them, but they are very close together). You'd be hard-pressed to tell that there is tape on it, but it bugs me a little. I'd rather be able to disable them altogether.

Great to hear. I think I’ll be ordering it soon.

as far as the lights, they face the driver ? Meaning they are a distraction when driving?

They face between the front seats/towards the rear. They were a little distracting to me during my initial post-installation drive, but more so I found it irritating. So the next day I put the tape on it.

BTW, this unit turns off when the goes into sleep mode. There is no recording while parked, overnight, etc.

I cannot seem to locate a video and/or instructions for the rear camera installation. I have the cable all the way back to the rear cargo area fuse box...but cannot seem to get the required panels off to finish routing the cable to the rear door. Any advice or video tutorials?

this might help, they go through the entire process for the LR cam. Maybe it can help you with the routing

The panel route is a disassembly nightmare. I ran the cable for my rear cam install through the roof lining. Much much simpler.

Me too, my goal was to remove as little as possible. The cable is now ran through the edge of the headliner and down the panel near the rear most passenger-side window. I have it coiled up and sitting behind the rear fuse box cover. My struggle is this...how do I get the cable routed to the cargo door?

I used the routing path the same as what is shown in the installation instructions from LR. I was able to pull back the lower D Pillar trim just enough to push a bent coat hanger through and feed the line out to where the wiring loom elbow is connected to the plastic trim. You can disconnect that elbow from the trim to give you the room need to pull the cable through and then feed it into the loom to inside the door. I just needed to remove the rear door card and slight move the D Pillar. Less headache than I had anticipated.
