UPDATE: I was able to get the installation cost down to a little more than half. I think I was lucky having other JLR dealers in the area that quoted me significantly less. But now, I realized on the Defender X-Dynamic, the bottom portion is gloss black and the wheel arches are matte black. Surprised JLR did not try and make sure the wheel arches would match whichever trim you select. I would much prefer all the black pieces to be matte. There are a few threads on this topic, but it certainly does dampen my interest in getting the wheel arches. I also do not want to paint the wheel arches gloss to match. But one possibility could be doing a satin wrap to the gloss black to dull it a bit...

To be fair about the process I bit off more than I could chew in terms of time and I tried for about 20 minutes to get the bumper off (by myself) without trying to rip it out and struggled, so I hastily bolted/screwed everything back in.
Thanks for the info.

Lights in my wheel arches too FWIW

Lights in wheel arches.

It doesn't feature in the PowefulUK video as they had no hitch so I was wondering if perhaps that is what is needed to clear the hardware with ease. It's the piece between the license plate mount and the hitch itself I'm talking about. I asked a bloke on FB who did the same install of the recovery eyes. His also had the hitch in place and he said he had no issues removing the rear bumper.

I'd be interested to know your process and hopefully avoid similar problems when I install the recovery eyes myself.

I was bummed out that I could add them to the build without including a whole bunch of other stuff I don't care about. Bright pack I think it is.

Thanks for any pointers.

I think there is an additional trim piece on the bumper you have to remove. I think that is the key to get around the hitch.
