Default Dealer labor costs for accessories

Does anyone have any experience with what dealers are charging to install things such as
- classic mud flaps
- recovery eyes

I’m wondering if I should go to a local body shop instead (although make take @MattF up on his offer to help me install the eyes AND the powerfuluk reverse lights.

Any indy body shop should be able to easily handle those accessories, since they come with clear instructions. Dealers (at least those around here in SoCal) are generally dishonest and charge a fortune on labor, both the lawyer-like hourly fees and the ridiculous number of hours (when I didn't know any better, they charged me 2 hours of labor - over $400 - to "program" a new Activity Key two years ago. I just programmed a new one myself with an IIDTool, it took me about 2 or 3 minutes from beginning to end.) And, many of them may refuse to install aftermarket parts you did not buy form them - such as powerfuluk's reverse lights -anyway. If you were having complicated accessories installed, such as the factory winch, it may be worth paying the inflated fees of the dealer. But for simple stuff like recovery eyes and mud flaps, anyone with half a brain and basic experience with tools can do it.
