Put a screw in. A narrow wood screw. Pull gently. It will pop it out leaving an invisible pinhole that will have zero effect.

Lots of simple ways to skin this cat.

A fish hook would also work.

Tweezers leaves no hole so is preferable.

Laugh away but… $102k for this gorgeous beast, still under warranty and 5 other cars in the driveway falling apart to deal with? Absolutely gets added to the dealer list at the next trip… and the dealer should have immediately addressed it with zero pushback. That’s my point. The dealer should do it.. not the non-mechanical owner. The fact that the original poster took it to the dealer for this means that he or she couldn’t figure out an easy pop out. So they’re prob not rebuilding transmissions on their D1 on the weekend like others here…

I get that it’s still under warranty, but if the user happens to shove something in there which causes the rubber nub to be pushed in, that is hardly a manufacturer defect. It would take longer to explain the problem, not to mention the drive to the dealership, and the wait for the fix when several posters mentioned fixing it in seconds with ingenuity.

The same issue happened on my ‘21 110. A small water bottle caused the issue. I pulled it out with a pair of needle nose pliers but the rubber must have stretched wrong because the second I put another bottle in it deformed again. I just leave it as it is now; short of replacing the rubber insert there doesn't seem to be a permanent fix.
