When I bought my 2025+ Defender 110, I purchased the “Land Rover Windshield Protection” for an additional $2,255. With 10K miles on the clock, I took a rock off of a road construction vehicle that was sitting on a flatbed trailer on New Mexico Hwy 9. Has everyone/anyone had good luck in getting their windshield replaced with this coverage? The dealer closest to me hasn’t returned my calls and e-mail. I understood this to be a warranty “attached” to my VIN.
Being a fellow Texan, I also purchased the coverage with my Defender, 53 weeks into my ownership I got to use that coverage. I went through Sewell Land Rover North Austin and it was a painless process. The warranty covered the full cost of the replacement, which was right at $2400 for glass ($1867.56) labor ($375.00 - install and calibration) and supplies ($155.54 - 2x LR078295 ADHESIVE AND SEAL KIT)
Not sure where you are in the state sstracke, but if it is a reasonable distance, I would give Sewell in Austin a call.
Just spoke to our local dealer, told him my windshield cracked spontaneously with no road hazard. He stated the windshield is NEVER covered under warranty, he can’t even file it in his system that way. I think he’s lying. Anyone else have experience getting their windshield covered under warranty claim?
Coincidentally, this thread popped up after just having scheduled to have my windshield replaced.
They are coming out in a week or so. I already know it will be aftermarket. I can report back what they install.
I'm not sure I have ever heard of anyone getting a windshield replaced under warranty. Maybe a good-will replacement from a dealer in some cases. But I doubt it was technically under warranty.
Glass is weird. it could have the smallest chip that would be unnoticeable - and then one day you come out to your car and there is an inches long crack...
Following up because I said I would...
Had the windshield replaced yesterday. They used Pilkington, which - correct me if I'm wrong - is the manufacturer for Land Rover glass anyway. It just does not have the Land Rover stamp in the bottom corner.
Looks like they did a good job and took care during the install. Don't believe they even needed to "re-calibrate" anything.

Correct; Pilkington is the manufacturer of the OEM windshield.

Agree - for North American Spec 2022 110 SE P400 when Safelite replaced my cracked windshield I requested Pilkington glass (vs. the Chinese made lower cost option they initally offered) & it came with Land Rover branding.
Ah interesting. I'll have to take a peek at mine to see what else is "missing"
If you can upload a pic similar to mine it would be interesting to see if the UV rating etc. is the same just w/o LR branding. On a side note Safelite did do a calibration of my windshield which was fairly involved including driving the vehicle for 15+ minutes with their diagnostic device attached. You may want to inquire if anything was missed (assuming you have front facing sensors at the top in the rear view mirror area).

Yeah I'll snap a pic and share it.
Safelite did not do mine - it was more of an independent shop I suppose.
Anyway, I asked them specifically about the re-calibration process and they said it was not needed as they can do it without needing to re-calibrate.
To which I said - ok.
I drove the car this morning and didn't notice anything "wrong". It is primarily my wife's vehicle to haul our kids around and she has not reported anything wrong either.
Buuuuuut I'm not even sure she'd notice if a wheel was missing...
