You are correct. The second row seats fold down differently in an 7 seater than they do in an 5 seater. Although another member made a cool camping set up with some boards that pieced together to make a flat surface in a 7 seater for their kids to sleep on when camping.
Thanks for your help. Bad design then on JLR’s part. Not having a flat floor in this type of vehicle is a miss. And why they couldn’t make it happen is beyond me, because I currently have a Disco V with 3rd row and with all the seats folded down, it is flat as a pancake in the back - so it can be done. Ronin- The inside of your 90 looks great. I did the exact same thing to mine about 2 years ago when I first got my 90 and love it. I do have a question about the seatbelts that I hope you can help with.
When I removed the rear seats, I initially had an airbag warning light due the middle seatbelt which is integrated into the seat. Once I realized why the light was on, I did a little surgery and had to remove the center belt assembly, plug it back into the wiring harness, and tuck it all away under the storage floor. Because of that, I never removed the two outer seatbelts that are attached to the rear body on each side of the tailgate/door. I would like them gone, but figured it wasn't worth the trouble if I was going to have to keep them plugged in and tucked away behind the interior panel. I see you took yours out -- did you ever get a warning light? And if so, did you have to plug the belts back in and hide them -- or did you figure out a way to bypass it?

I removed the belts and left the plugs just hangin. No warning lights at all..
Well, I finally got around to pulling the side panels and unplugging the seatbelt retractors (yellow plug) for the two outermost rear seatbelts on my 90, and I'll be damned if I got another airbag warning light -- just like I did when I removed the center belt a year or so ago. I assumed this would be the case, but I just can't figure out why mine gives the warning lights but yours and others does not.
EDIT: Just ordered some 2.2 ohm bypass resistors. We'll see if those do the trick this weekend. If not, rear seatbelts will be going back in.
