I don't believe that these will ever be collectable. If the new defender proves to be a winner long term, I suspect that they will keep making them as fast as they can. The only reason the old ones are popular is the limited amount that are available in the US.
I tend to agree. Possible exception being that supply chain issues don't get resolved sufficiently to produce large numbers of the L663 before time for the next gen EV-based version is launched, ensuring a limited supply for all-time.

Agree as well, the only potential ones with sustained value will be V8 if they switch to electric.
Lets not forget that as recently as 2005-2009 the mighty Range Rover was powered by a naturally aspirated 4.4-litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine producing 300 hp (224 kW) and 425 N⋅m (313 lb⋅ft) and the engine weighs 441lbs. This is almost identical to the P300 2.0 Turbo 4 other than engine weight which is also probably double the weight and 55% larger displacement. (I can't find the weight of the 2.0L engine anywhere) The horsepower wars with bigger numbers doesn't translate to real driving needs on a regular daily basis. I don't think of the Defender as a 0-60 rocket, I drive it as a quick tank. The one thing that is the most dramatic aspect of driving all Defenders are the commanding presence and view. You are high up but not tippy and have great visibility out the windows other the back but the clearsight mirror does a great job of fixing that. Love this SUV.

this is spot on. coming from an L320 range rover sport with a 4.4l AJ V8, my p300 defender 110 feels a lot peppier than the numbers on paper suggest. i believe the 0-60 time for the range rover sport was 8.7 seconds, the p300 defender does it right under 8 seconds. the defender being ~700 pounds lighter than the L320 helps with the peppier feeling too.
