Default Did I get a lemon? New i6 tick at idle and won't rev...

As the title says, with 50 miles on it I noticed at tick at idle when I brought it home. On night #2 the battery died but I noticed a battery low notification on the dash at the dealer and I don't drive much so I just chalked that up to it sitting on the lot for a while (it's a 24). Now it doesn't want to rev when I stomp it. Not sure what gear it's in but it hits a wall at 56mph or so and it won't accelerate past that under wide open throttle. Is there a built in rev limiter from the factory I could be hitting that unlocks after a certain mileage? Or maybe I'm still low voltage and it just doesn't have enough juice to keep revving? I've got it on the tender for the night. I'll see what tomorrow brings.

There is no break-in rev limiter as you suggested, but the first thing I'd do is make sure the battery is charged up, and if that doesn't work, take it back to the dealer. My guess is that it probably needs an ECU update or something like that.

As for the ticking sound - I've learned that this is due to the injectors - which are quite loud, especially when "cold".

But if you can't get over 55mph then thats a clear and present warranty claim and or delivery/lemon rejection.

I agree with H1Tad on the injectors being loud.

Does the max speed of 55 mph happen everywhere? Would you happen to know if you have the Speed Limiter feature active? On our 2022 110s, there is a feature where you can set the speed to not allow the vehicle to go faster than the posted speed limit in that area (which is hardly ever correct and drops down to 35 mph, in an inactive school zone when everyone is going minimum 50 mph...)

I didn't read this very carefully, but I'm going to also agree that you probably have the adaptive speed limiter activated. It won't go over the speed limit unless you go wide open throttle past the kickdown point. You can turn it off using the button on the steering wheel.

Symptoms sound to me like a blown turbo, which I had on my P300 - BUT, that was accompanied by a rainbow of lights on the dash and a notice that it was in limp mode. So hopefully its just the speed limiter that was set by mistake

Also, if you planing on keeping it maybe don't mash the gas pedal to the floor while it's breaking in?

I thought about the limiter at first, but if I just don't WOT it it gets past 56ish with no issue. Its only under WOT where it stutters. I think its actually trying to shift and unable to. Don't know. I still think the hybrid system may just be totally depleted. I'm hoping my road trip this weekend solves that, but if not, I've got a service appointment scheduled.

Yeah, most definitely a problem. But I don't think its an issue with the hybrid system, as an MHEV system doesn't drive the wheels - it just boosts the engine and the belt-integrated starter/generator allows for accessories to keep working in extended engine off scenarios, seamless stop/start, and powers the electric supercharger, which is only active at low rpm.

Fairly confident this was related to the auto stop/start setting being set to remember with my iidtool. That caused a lot of funkiness that seems resolved now that I have set it back to the factory setting.
