Default Does this oil look like it was changed?

Took my new defender in for its first oil change at 15k miles. I was skeptical if the dealer even did it, they seemed shady and in a rush. I wasn’t there to watch them do it.

2,000 miles later I get a alert on my dash saying I need to take it in for service(they never reset it) which made me check the oil and this is what it looks like

Does that look like 2000 mile old oil or 18000 mile? It’s also not full on the dipstick around halfway.

Im debating on wether or not to go to the dealer and raise hell and demand an oil change

Dealers forget to set oil interval changes frequently, and it is a shame they do. I can't tell from the pictures you posted if the oil has been changed or not. It looks clean to me from the pictures. If the oil on the dipstick looked black, I would then voice my concern with the dealership.

Looks like pretty new oil in a petrol engine. Similar to mine at that mileage. The 0W-20 is a very light colored oil. Hard to even see on dipstick when new.

Yes. It does.

Oil gets dark very quickly.

Old oil at 10000 miles is jet black

This is right after a fill with 8.8 L of new oil. A very light straw color and a correct fill volume.
