Default Driver’s Side Windshield Wiper Position

My Defender 110 driver’s side windshield wiper position is slightly lower than the passenger side which is positioned perpendicular to the windshield horizontal line.

I’ve noticed looking up photos of other Defenders that some are set that way and others are set with both perfectly perpendicular on both sides. Any idea which one is truly correct and why?

My though is that early models they were optically set to look correct, but maybe at higher speeds the driver’s side wiper fluttered and they re-spec’d it’s position on the driver’s side to temper that.

Anyway, advice welcome. I have a wiper puller and was thinking of readjusting the driver’s side but rather ask first.

It is funny you ask this - when I bought my Disco 1 back in 1998 I noticed that too the first time I went in for service - as some new on the lot were even and some the passenger side was dipped - the service manager told me that putting on the wiper at the factory one spline made that difference in position and it was ok either way and they could pull the wiper arm and change if i wanted - guess it is same all these years later

Ha, too funny. Love LR. It looks like they have two specs. I think I’ll adjust mine and see how it goes. See if it remains stable at highway speeds.

Okay, so I tried to remove the wiper arm and with a puller it won’t budge. So before trying harder, does anyone know how to properly remove?

Since a puller won’t work assuming there’s a retainer but cannot feel or see one. Also did a Google search and came up empty handed.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks, Gents.

There's this and then the Instructions for blade removal are on pg 9495 of the workshop manual for the P400.
