Default Factory air compressor install

Hello all. Watched PowerfulUKs video on the factory air compressor installation. Am I correct in that they actually cut the trim panel? Some form of riviting a strip joining the two sections? Has anyone done a install of the compressor with the 3rd row AC in the way? This would be a 7 seat 110.

AC box is immediately in front of the air compressor. Didn’t install myself but mine has failed twice under warranty. It was either port or dealer installed option where I had to pay for the install on top of the option cost. Would recommend looking into Lucky8’s ARB compressor that fits under the hood - cheaper and looked like a 30 min no skill install.

Well noted. Sadly or maybe happy I have the factory air compressor. Hopefully it wil not fail. It is a crazy amount of interior panel removal fraught with peril. Most of the trim clips that hod these panels on or one time use. I will not cut a panel because it difficult. If it when in it can come apart. Keep you posted.

I installed it myself and have the 3rd row with rear AC. It took longer than anticipated and it does require cutting and drilling the trim panel. I have used it extensively and haven't had it fail me yet. The installation was more than I bargained for and took me most of the day on a Saturday.

I assume when you say cutting and drilling you mean for the holes mounting. Not cutting the actual trim panel in two. You removed it in one piece correct?

This exactly is my experience...

I also installed on a 7 seater 110 w/ rear AC and it took me a whole day. Was more complicated than anticipated to install but the trim holes are simple. (I don't remember riveting anything btw). Also I love it when I'm airing up and down.
