Faking Camping Mode?
I've noticed that if I leave any door open for long enough, eventually my Defender appears to go to sleep (dash display off, interior lights off). In that mode, you can open and close any other door without waking the car up (dash display remains off, interior lights do not come on).
This made me wonder if I had stumbled upon a Camping Mode work-around. Leaving a car door ajar overnight is possibly not the most attractive; does anyone know if:

- When in this dormant mode with a door open, is the car really asleep, or is it drawing down the battery faster than if all doors were closed?
- How does the Defender sense that a door is open or closed? And can this be overridden with a suitable switch?
- Install a switch for the tailgate that disables the car from sensing it has been opened - works just for the tailgate
- Install a switch that makes the car think one of the passenger doors is always open - would work for all doors
