GAP IID Tool Summary
Soon. Very soon. We are working as quickly as possible. We will put the info out as soon as we have G4s ready to go.
This is def not a bad idea - tho we do try to make things as safe as possible by offering restore functions (the IIDTool reads and stores the vehicles CCF on first use just in case...) and we offer email support for the worst just in case cases. :-)
For more than one vehicle you can purchase additional VIN licenses as Ratledge mentioned (thx!). This works to 6-7 vehicles (depending on the functions used and the vehicles/options). The Pro version has different hardware including more memory to cope with being used on many vehicles. It is quite a bit more expensive, though. It really is designed for a workshop environment.
Just got my Gap II tool and using this thread I uploaded a number of changes for the better. The only thing I can't get to work is the start stop remembering the last setting. The auto off was the number one reason I bought the tool
I set the MultCAN-566 MHLastUserMode to Enabled. It shows as Enabled, but the auto stop/off defaults to the normal on setting when I restart the truck.
Any ideas?

Try resetting your Pivi. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds until it recycles.
Once that is done, if that hasn't fixed it, go in with the tool and see if the setting is still set correctly. I'm on a different laptop, but I'll check my settings when I get a minute and see if there was anything else that may have needed to be set as well.
Also, what year is your vehicle?

When you update another code (say for activating global open/close) does that "reset" the computer overall maybe making the auto off default to active again until I hit the auto off button again to remember it? Let see if it works again tomorrow. After additional programming later this evening, I hit the auto off button drove the car and then put it to bed. Hopefully tomorrow, it remembers the setting from tonight and we are good.
All of the other setting I did tonight worked perfectly.
One last question - for anyone that did the auto off last setting - does your console light stay yellow on restart or it is white?

I found another thread on the stop/start and guys are saying they weren't having luck getting it to work on pre 2023 models - although guys a couple did have success. I also emailed Gap and they said the same thing - it's hit or miss on some models.
Now for my new problem - the truck was dead this AM. I had locked it last night, so I needed to use the blade key to get in and a jump box to start it. Let's see if it is an anomaly from all the programming yesterday or something I programed incorrectly. I guess worse case I can restore the original settings and leave it overnight. The try again with a few re=programs. The battery is 3 years old, so maybe the programming took a toll, Funny thing is it fired right up after programming last night, so my fear is one of the changes caused the problem as I don't remember seeing a light I left on last night after I locked the vehicle.
Anyone else have a battery issue after programming?

No issues with mine. And the stop/start memory worked fine.
Maybe you adjusted something by mistake? Although the list comes up for you to check before you hit "make changes"
Restore the original settings and see if it starts.

What year is your Defender?
l bought it new in November 2022.
l've heard of others with battery issues after three years though. Maybe your battery was borderline charged and then the software update used enough power to throw up a "low battery" warning.
When l sold my old Defender the battery was eleven years old and it was still fine. I would expect more than three years from a battery.
