Does this issue only relate to the premium headlights?

Mine doesn't have the "halo" just regular headlights with the DRL

How are those "regular" headlights? I have a P300 on order and I don't think I'm getting the halo lights due to availability, which by this thread may be a good thing. Are the regular ones LED? Do they cast a decent beam at night?

Yes they're LED and they are okay.

Although some have complained about the headlights on the new Defender not being very good, l've found these to be fine.

As already mentioned Powerful U.K. sell replacement headlights for a lot less than LR
Sadly only RHD at the moment but l am sure in time they'll start doing LHD

Guys, What is involved from the technician standpoint to remove the headlight assembly? Meaning...Do they have to disassemble the bumper, grille etc...?

Fairly simple,
Open the Hood, remove the 4 torx and the 4 clips.
Disconnect the connector from the Radar behind the Landrover badge.
Remove the front grille.
Than remove the torx screw from the headlight surround.
Remove the headlight surround together with the small front panel.
3x 10mm bolts hold the headlight unit in place, losen them and disconnect the electrical connector.

Default A-piller “crackle”

I didn't pay this much money so I can start working a 'third' job. I have enough crap on my schedule as it is. The other thing I worry about now after reading your post is after they replace the one side even if that works then the other side might start acting up. Ugh I do hope I've traded it in by then.

One good thing about the issue is the halo and the signature DRL are out but the center light inside the halo does work at night so I probably won't get pulled over but if I do then I have the appointment confirmation email printed up to hopefully avoid a ticket. fwiw
.

Not to hijack the thread but I just bought a 2020 110 HSE and as we were looking at it I noticed the passenger light just like you’ve described here. OFC the dealer has ordered one and “will call me when it arrives” .

Once we got our “new” car we took it on a road-trip and I noticed just what you described. There is a “crackling” noise periodically coming from the passenger side A-piller only when we were at highway speeds.

I took some videos to try and capture the sound for the technicians but this sounds like more than a one-off for this vehicle. Issues and all, what a great vehicle though.

the crackling sound now has a factory fix for it. We just got ours fixed a month or so ago with new parts that had to be painted. There are good threads about successful DIY repairs to prevent this from happening also if you don’t wanna wait for the dealer.

Thank you! I’ll dig for those threads. From the sound of it on here, waiting on the dealer seems to be a theme.
