Default Hunters Prestige or Lucky8 “Black Trim Kit”?

I’ve found a shop that will be painting my front and rear bumpers to match vehicle color, but I’m trying to decide between Lucky 8 and Hunters Prestige for the “gloss black body trim kit” to replace the matte plastic trim around the bottom of the doors and bumpers - and the wheel arches. I know HP uses a few OEM parts for this kit, combined with the bumper corners they produce themselves they told me…but the shipping to USA is really expensive.

Has anyone ever installed the Lucky 8 gloss black trim kit and been happy with it? Fit / finish / quality.

or would you recommend spending the extra money and get from Hunters?

and last question - my dealer said any cosmetic work (like painting bumpers, trim) wont effect my factory warranty…just wanted to make sure no one has run into any warranty issues after doing cosmetic work to their truck?

thanks!

I'd get the Lucky8 kit. Cheaper shipping and excellent customer support. They do make quality products, so much so, that they work direct with JLR North America when they do the TReK competition vehicles every year.

That’s good to hear - it would be about half the price of buying / shipping from HP…but since they will be doing this all at once when they remove the bumpers to paint, just wanted to make sure the body shop doesn’t run into any issues.

does anyone have a website link to purchase the US version of the gloss black wheel arches (with lights)…lucky8 only has the non reflector ones, which I don’t think are legal in the US

thanks!

Both Hunters & Lucky get them from the same supplier in China. Hunters will have their stamp on the back.
I’ve been getting all the gloss black trims from Hunters. Typically I can see all the boxes in about 4 days from the UK.
The entire kit, R&R and painting the parking sensors gloss black. Takes me about 5-6hrs.

Thanks for the info - I’ll probably get from Lucky8 to save $750ish on shipping to the USA

Can you tell a big difference between the gloss black trim vs the Santorini black paint? Wasn’t sure if I need to have them paint the trim parts or if it matches pretty close

If you don’t have the gloss black bumpers from factory. The parking sensor are going to be silver.
nothing is going to be Santorini Black.

Yeah - I guess what I’m asking is - do I need to paint the gloss black pieces with Santorini black, or is the gloss black close enough you can’t tell the difference

The gloss black is gloss black. Even on a black pack from the factory. it’s not Santorini black, it’s gloss black.
if you want those parts to be Santorini black, you will have to paint all the pieces Santorini black.

Perstage shipping to US seems pretty expensive. If you're in US, go with Lucky8 and UK, go with Hunter. Both have ecellent services from what I hear.
