Is it?

“overly” is similar to “too”, saying “too dim” is not oxymoron because it’s like saying “too slow” or “too thin”.

“slight overly dim” would be oxymoron.

I went into my Privi and the option is not there but now I have the ability to turn off the screen and the ability to adjust brightness. Maybe I was confused but I swear there was a button there which has been changed to turn off screen

I have checked this as well and I do not have that option either. I’ve explored the entire system and couldn’t find anything. Even explored the settings for cluster. Strange you can’t adjust cluster brightness.

I drove home in a pretty dark rain storm and had a chance to mess with the small physical rotary ****. It seemed to be changing the instrument panel brightness, so maybe turn that up full blast and then adjust the center panel down with the software slider.

Just an idea -- I only got to test the first half while driving...

I’m not sure if I have a rotary button, I’ve searched everywhere.

Going to assume dim instrument cluster at dusk until there’s an official software update.

On left hand drive cars it’s below and to the left of the steering wheel. By your left knee.

Thank you!

I finally found it. It’s located under the parking brake area, tiny little thing but it’s really there! Unfortunately it’s dialed all the way already. But glad I actually found it.

Another update.

This time I started the Defender and then dialed down and back up and I believe it’s slightly brighter. It now matches the navi screen. Maybe it’s set to some default until you actually play with it/even if it’s set all the way up. I did notice a very slight flicker (like a reset) action when I first dialed it.

Just reviving an old thread, I've noticed the same dim instrument cluster on my 2022. I thought it was just me until I read this thread but I don't see a conclusion. Is it just a JLR oddity or is there a software or other fix? I've played with the dial, it does adjust brightness but then it does the same dim effect again. I wish it was brighter!
