Is the integrated air compressor worth the cost?

There are better options out there..
At least power it directly, many fuses are already blown with the Landrover compressor.
I did it the hard way for the same costs

My personal opinion is that they are a nice option, but I wouldn't add it afterwards. I'm too cheap. There are tons of threads where people take an ARB and mount it under the load space or get something like this if you want to use it across vehicles: https://arbusa.com/air-compressors/p...r-compressors/. I've spent stupid money for & on my Defender (like the bullbars), but the value just isn't there for me to have it integrated. And, I don't want to use my loadspace under storage for it. I'm happy with the ARB portable (small tackle box). What convinced me (again I might get it with a build if I could, but not afterwards) was the PowerfulUk video. He tested several different compressors against the JLR integrated one. Some of them were epic failures! The JLR integrated performed ok, but overall I was more impressed with the ARB.

Oh and once I was convinced to go with a portable, this one pointed me to the one that worked best for me:

Did anyone order the onboard air compressor?
Most of the time I don't bother airing-down my LR4 tires when driving on the beach. But sometimes if I park on an uphill incline, when I attempt to leave the LR4 will sink into the soft sand rather than move forward which means I do need to air down. Then I take the 10 minute drive home on 20 psi tires and use my big air compressor to inflate the tires. Onboard air would be nice, but I have a few concerns:
- What is the run time? Enough to inflate all 4 tires? I have tried some small portable compressors and they either timeout when overheating or actually melt.
- How much space do you lose in the rear cargo area? It's already smaller than my LR4 cargo area.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

My suggestion, save your $$$ and buy a portable one easy to fit under the rear tray etc.

I have the integrated, and am happy with it. I ordered mine at time of build. I do agree with others here however, if ordered at built time, sure it's worth it, but probably not adding on afterwards. Yes, a nice ARB would easily outperform the integrated one, but I love the set and forget, as well as the ease of use.
I do wish it was higher power, it takes 20-25 at a minimum to air back up after a trail day. But overall, I'm happy and if I built another one, I would do it again.
