The Land Rover app, also known as "InControl Remote", allows you to remotely interact with your vehicle by features like: locking/unlocking doors, remote engine start, preheating/precooling the cabin, checking fuel level, monitoring vehicle location, accessing maintenance alerts, and using a "beep and flash" feature to locate your car in a crowded parking lot; all accessible through your smartphone.

 

Yeah sure the app can do all those things but from my experience you need a physical key fob with you if you actually want to drive the truck. If I remember correctly, whenever I use remote start from the app I have to press the start button break pedal when I get in the truck for it to recognize that the key fob is present before I can start driving.

 

It's the perfect app for sitting in your car and going nowhere.

 

well of course you have to have a working key. Perhaps I misunderstood the question “wish i could use my phone”.
