Go with what @isugoo mentioned: go with the backup light mod. It is one of the BEST mods you can do to the Defender. Don't even bother with the Dealer, do not stop at Go, order now and start to install when arrive. Here's the Link with the video at the bottom of the page re: how to install.

Seriously though. You do you. With all things Defender, make it your own. If that involves getting the right color match, call the Dealer and dork slap them. This was either a Rookie manufacturing mistake or someone did a "quick repair" of something that fell off with what was on hand. It's really not tough to replace and they should do it. If it's out of warranty, you can get the part from PowerfulUK (Link), but you have to paint it. In that case, just pull yours and have someone do it. Or, as mentioned above, buy both in black and call it a day.

Finally, since I feel like I should be paid by PowerfulUK for all the links! Here's their tow loop trim cover if you want to touch that up as well (Link). They have a variety of colors & styles if that one doesn't quite do it.

Good luck.

Looks identical to me. One side lit up by the red hues of sunset/sunrise the other not.

this picture to me is not showing a difference.

Best course of action, agreed. These are the PowerfulUK LED backup lights. Easy install, waaay better than the standard lighting which doesn’t really light up much. Thinking about it, the cars we grew up with and the cars our parents and grandparents drove had reverse lights that were merely indicators to let the person behind you know that you were intending to ‘back up’. They were never meant to actually illuminate the area you were backing up into. Todays modern vehicles should be equipped with lighting that actually lights up the area sufficiently when one is maneuvering into a parking space, garage, campsite, boat ramp, etc.

does any company make one without brake lights? I personally love 4 squarecle shape lights at night so I do not wish to add another brake lights. but love to have brighter back up lights especially my car doesn't give option to upgrade to Pivi 4.3 at all (for brighter back up camera display)

Might as well bring it in then! It certainly won't make anything worse.

There are several options on Amazon for gloss black trim pieces that fit in those spaces. Just do a search for Defender bumper inserts.

If the dealer wont do anything I'd totally just get some lights for it and call it a day.
