That’s right. Since around October they’ve been downgrading sound systems throughout the Land Rover fleet (including RR). Vehicles that should’ve been getting the Autobiography Meridian are getting Meridian Surround. And vehicles that should’ve been getting Surround are getting the base Meridian.
The only vehicle not getting screwed on sound is the entry level ‘S’ trim - should get the base Meridian, and still is!

Totally agree. Just drove our new Defender from the dealer to the ceramic coating company and noticed the mediocre sound. Also noticed the 2 missing speakers in the rear cargo area ceiling. Now I'll have to spend $8K for an aftermarket sound system. On the bright side I did get the digital dash.
I find this unacceptable. This is going to hurt resale value tremendously. Who is going to buy a top trim that's coming with analog dials and a base sound system. My X build is scheduled for this week. I will check with dealer next week to get an updated build sheet and see if there were any changes to the sound system.
However, I pushed backed to the dealer and said that having an X with Meridian (standard) makes this 110 X somewhat of an odd ball in the market since you normally cannot even select that option in the build. Resell could be an issue for sure. The dealer threw in some extras, mud flaps and rubber floor mats to help the situation.
I still feel slighted and disappointed overall.

Same thing happened to me -- ordered an Eiger Grey 110 X in August, built on 11/18/22 and got notification from the dealer that the Meridian Surround would be downgraded to Meridian (standard), they credited $450 for the downgrade.
However, I pushed backed to the dealer and said that having an X with Meridian (standard) makes this 110 X somewhat of an odd ball in the market since you normally cannot even select that option in the build. Yes it did make the deal "feel" better at the time. I do love this Defender 110 X and have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far, but from time to time wonder what could have been having the Meridian Surround.

I got the regular Meridian Sound (not Surround) in my 90S and I would say it’s significantly better than the sound system in my 2020 BMW X3. Now I know this is not a good comparison, just some perspective for those waiting to take delivery; imo the regular Meridian sound system is quite good. If you’re an audiophile maybe you won’t be satisfied, but maybe try it out before deciding you will hate it. I for one like it a lot and was immediately impressed.

Looks like they are going to keep cranking them out by adding a third-shift in Nitra, with or without all the parts that "should" be in each Defender. Hopefully a potential shorter wait time will ease the frustration of any missing bits.

12.3-inch digital gauge cluster Removed
I was checking delivery date with my dealer two days ago, there is 1 week late .. not big deal .. My eyes comes on option list in his computer and I shocked that interactive screen was removed from the factory and he did’t mention it !!
Is it normal for all defenders x-dynamic 23.5 ?
