I was reading all other story and the downgrade for the people cars.

In this point I hope nothing also change until my car delivers 🤞

 

My first foray here was into looking at the stereo upgrade thread(s). Mostly just going to try adding a thumper in the rear. I have a 16" bass box in the rear of my wife's Santa Fe, I will likely end up replacing most if not all of the OG speakers, so wherever those 4 extra speakers would go might end up hosting one anyway.

I take it that (I'm getting ready to put a deposit down on what I assume will have to be an MY24 90S with tan leather and all the fun towing and off-road stuff), so I see you have to move up the pay chain if you want the "A Frame" front protector (we call those "Cow catchers" where I come from) and the extended black exterior pack (since I'm going with Carpathian Grey I want to murder it out), but I assume I can get those added at the port, dealer or post-purchase if those don't / can't / won't work?

You've gotta figure on a close to $80k maxed out 90S they will humor me adding another $2160 worth of parts, right? I figure $1500 for the A-Frame up front and $660 more for the "satin black" front and rear scuff plates, just doing the math from the other trim add-on options.

 

For the first part, you order them when you order the vehicle it's not an after the fact thing. There's a whole timeline that goes with ordering and a deadline for changes but your dealer will explain it.

For the second part, how can you get a 90S up to $80k? Unless you're paying some serious dealer markup that seems an impossible number for the 90S.

 

Picked up my 23.5 P400 X-Dynamic last week. Ordered June 2022, delivered Feb 2023.

The good:
-Came with 2 key fobs
-Came with Interactive driver display

The bad (but not a huge deal to me):
-No Meridian surround
-No large screen
-No clear sight rear view mirror
-Manual steering column
-No USB ports in the back of seats

Loving this vehicle so far!

 

What am i missing?!?!? To the best of my knowledge, the following are not included in any 23.5 X-dynamic:
11.4" screen
Power tilt wheel
Clear sight mirror

 

When I built/ordered they were, but I should have been more specific. I built it with the dealer and was later told those options wouldn't go through.

 

I'm coming back to update this post because, out of nowhere, my audio settings now have a subwoofer adjustment slider. Previously it was just bass/treble. There was a software update performed last week OTA so I guess that's what did it? Anyway, with the ability to increase the sub volume, the sound is MUCH better. It's still not in the neighborhood of a high end stereo, but it now doesn't bother me with its incompetence. I obviously didn't let the stereo downgrade keep me from buying the car...but maybe this will make some other disappointed folks happier as well.

 

As of today, ordering my D90S with most options including full leather, the single thing not accepted was better headlights ($400).

Build date on my accepted order is 5/12 with supposed delivery 6/30 - just under 4 months.

Early, I know, but mine (Asheville NC dealer) will come through Savanah or perhaps Charleston?

 

Same here, only bass & treble audio settings at first then the subwoofer appeared after a software update. But IMHO, it still sounds pretty bad compared to the full Meridian surround sound in our other Defender. Looking forward to a full upgrade.

I also noticed on the 2023 that they changed the material on that rounded trim piece that runs across the dashboard to some sort of fake suede. Maybe it won't squeak like a dog toy the way the leather looking one on our 2021 did. But if it does I now know how to take it all apart and line the backside with adhesive felt to stop the squeaking.

 

how are you upgrading the meridian sound system in your defender? I’m pretty disappointed in mine
