Versatility. The Defender is in a certain tier due to its price point and target market. In this tier, virtually all of its competitors have full digital displays for the driver to customize the display to their individual preferences. I am particularly interested in the single dial configuration with trip summary on the right and media on the left. I’d have the map on the center dash display.

For longer trips, I would use the full map on the IDD and use the HUD for speed etc. The center dash display would be for media so my wife can play her audio books or music and never interfere with my nav info. I’m not willing to spend this much on a Defender and accept this downgrade. I would rather find a used one or a 23.5 that has what I’m paying for. Here’s a good video on the IDD display:

 

MY23.5 110 X, finally came into the dealership last week. It didn't have IDD or ClearSight. Even though the build sheet and Monroney label both had it listed.

 

It was updated on the build sheet at some point but without any notice. Only caught it because I asked my dealer for an ETA update.

 

I've seen some Defenders with the TFT display, yet IDD listed on the window sticker.

 

That's bad, I would reject direct or give the dealer the chance to retrofit.

 

I did, so the dealer sold it to someone else the next day. I am now back on the waitlist (looking at an MY24 build). I'm also looking at CPO for one that has it (and the other items that have been dropped over time).

 

Dang. My original order sheet showed TFT, but was changed to IDD after it was built. Had my hopes up that I was going to be one of the lucky ones…

 

I think we all have our own preferences. I couldn't configure a MY24 S P300 with a 11 inch screen at all. and that's a little more important to me than the full digital dash. The analog has a TFT screen with a map and all that bur for me, I'm happy with my 23.5 incoming.

Just placed an order for a 2023.5 MY Defender 110 S P300. Sounds like if you get a the P400 it would be a 2024 model year build. That I was looking for the P300 it will still be a 23.5 MY.

Hey! nice color choices! I also have a P300 on order with a delivery date of 8/25. I was told by my salesman that the only thing 100% certain about getting the "unavailable" parts was that it was 100% uncertain. Take that for what it's worth. I also heard on here that the remaining 23.5's were coming in with the analog dials and 11 inch screen. So, here's being a little hopeful. It's going to be a long summer haha.
