I ordered mine Feb 2022 and the delivery date of MY2023 is the start of this July 2022. I have a screenshot of the VISTA 2 system the dealership uses too. Pretty swift considering when i placed the order they told me 18 months wait time.

Dealer Update as of today:
  • Status = Accepted by Sales
  • Build Date = 5/25/22
  • Delivery Date = 8/26/22
  • Accepted Delivery = 8/12/22

Curious what "Accepted by Sales" means and why the "Accepted Delivery" is two weeks earlier than the "Delivery Date"?

My Defender was built on 5/2/22, left Southampton, England on board the "Toronto" around 5/20/22, arrived in Baltimore on 5/31/22 and at my dealer on 6/9/22. I took delivery yesterday, 6/15/22. Absolutely worth the wait! I was originally told it would be delivered on 7/22/2022, so a big improvement there.

Only "bummer" is that the sun glass holder is gone, replaced by a dark plastic panel, and due to the chip shortage only one key fob. The other will be supplied later. The tires are all aired up to 50psi but even so it rides nice. I will reduce that as others have suggested.

Whoa... that was fast!
Still trying to figure out mine.
What does "Accepted by Sales" mean? First assumption is that it was delivered... but that is WAY to early... especially being in the Pacific Northwest.

I would be beside myself with this. You would expect this for a vehicle on the lot but not on a custom order. I am supposed to get mine by months end. I won't take kindly to any surprises. It is a shady business practice and true lack of integrity in my opinion. I could not imagine running my business like that. No one is getting a deal these days with JLR so I really don't see the reason for extra cash grab either.

Here's a bunch. Khaki interior. Analog gauges, which I really like. I have the snap-in hangers on the back of the seats for my coat and hat. It came with a cargo cover and a nice collapsible bin that also included a sun shade, some tie-downs, and an emergency kit. Also included was cool little box with two LR logo fobs.

My dealer did not pressure into buying protection plans, coatings etc. They were offered but completely optional. They charged MSRP without a mark-up but required that I sign a statement that I won't flip it for 12 months.

@clb87 - That would definitely be worthy of a call to Land Rover - USA. Also, send a PM to @The Insider about the best way to make a complaint to their Dealer Body governance.

That's not right. I'd be escalating to JLR and the dealership ownership.

For me this is the first time I have ever been stressed instead of excited about getting a vehicle. Even though my dealership has been forthcoming with their "no surprises, no shenanigans" policy, greed seems to be impacting a lot of dealerships now. Fingers are crossed they hold true to their word.
