great looking vehicle. Mind if I ask the reason for a month long hold @baltimore port?
Im sure some was fitting the rack, ladder, and lunchbox. The rest was a dock worker slow down. The workers union was fighting with management so purposefully backing up truckers trying to load.
Got you. I saw the news about truckers backed up but didn’t realize it’s that bad.
Quite frustrating considering the original delivery date was scheduled for July. Driving the 85 as my daily was starting to get old since top speed is around 65 downhill with a strong tailwind. DC beltway drivers care not for vintage vehicle excuses!!
Got an update from SA that my rig was loaded onto MV Tijuca and sailed on 10/6 from England to Baltimore port. Hopefully most of delayed defenders are sailing as well!
I found out that my D90 is also on this same ship. 11/4 ETA for delivery. Hopefully it doesn't get delay too long in Baltimore.
Can I ask which state/city you are taking delivery from? Mine if still slated for Oct 28 (tentatively) from central Jersey dealer but I’m skeptical of this date.
thanks. And that aligns as I’m picking up from central Jersey 3 hours from the port. And turnaround time with my dealer is 6 hours once it’s unloaded at the dealership. Hopefully Baltimore port cooperates for all of us …
Thanks. that’s excruciatingly painful to wait knowing the rig has finally reached other side of the pond. Do you know at which point it gets invoiced? And my rig was dealer/retail stock but I put the deposit. So do you know if it will be considered dealer inventory or customer car for prioritization?
Got an update from my SA that my 110 is also on the Tijuca headed to Baltimore.
Picked up from the dealer Friday 10-7, allocation dropped in March, order went in June 15. 1.5" JR lift with the Nitto Recon Grapplers LT275x60x20 replacing the Pirelli Scorpion mall crawler tires. The Defender is an absolute stud. The only items missing are the usb ports for the 2nd row, which is global issue on all models apparently.
