New Auxiliary Reverse Lights ❤️: 130 owners caveat
Bought new auxiliary reverse lights recently. Many vendors source them. From my vendor, I didn’t read all the way down in the description…all the way down…to see a specific note about the 130. More about that later.
Watched multiple install videos. Left side back panel almost would not release (PITA). Did not break any “clips” though some extras were provided. I did break two “tabs” on the left side body-colored panel and one on the right side, when prying them off with the plastic panel tools. Right side came off pretty easily. Removed the two inserts (where the new lights snap in) as well, wired up everything and it all went back together fairly well. To finish up, when inserting the left side, it snapped right in, nice and snug, and flush. The right side…well, it snapped in, but the space was too snug and kept pushing out the light on the inner most side. I used heat, to try and soften the black plastic…to no avail. I used a Dremel to grind some of the black plastic down…still didn’t correct things. You can see the misalignment in the pics. When I reached out to the vendor they were very responsive and communicative. They promptly figured out that I had a 130 and that the specific ones I chose have an issue with right side fitment, as is noted in the description on their site. My bad. I haven’t seen that notated on any other vendor’s site. I do like the red LED rings, but eventually will probably have to replace them with correct-fitting lights that fit flush on both sides, not just the left. So…love the lights, the extra light when reversing is awesome…just know that if you have a 130, do your research and select the correct fitting style/lights.
I was aware of the fitment issue before I bought. Also a 130 here, and just like you its not fitting perfectly on the right. I've learned to live with it, but the second someone makes one like this that fits correctly I'll be buying it.
