This is the first time Charente Grey has been made available on a Defender - I've only seen it in the lfesh on a D5 and a Range Rover - its actually a really great color - slightly lighter against Carpathian but with subtle tones of purple and brown in it - which I think will play nicely off the Burnt Sienna interior. I've added some images of the Range Rover in Charente to get an idea of the color - with the gloss black wheels and trim I think it will look killer. Also added color swatches of both from when I was in the dealership choosing my color.
Thanks. I think the Matt PPF will also enhance the look. If not, I will cancel the PPF and just go ceramic. In any case I can decide after I receive the defender. I went to several dealers and no Charente to see!
I cant recommend PPF enough - I had it on my last two Defenders (21'P400SE/23'P400X both in Carpathian) and its the best value for money in protection. Given this one will cost $160K, its an absolute given.
How many dealers have even had an Octa in the showroom? I heard Darien had one but I understand they are only the prototypes - I saw both models at the launch event in BK last May but thats it. Guess I'm waiting until 3/11 to find out!
I had a chance to pick up a full size RR in Charente Grey but found it too light under direct sunlight. I'm hoping the color will work better on Defender...
Also I don't think Land Rover has made 1 Defender Octa in Charente Grey as I couldn't find a video of it anywhere. Please post pictures.
I'm hoping it looks as good as the RR pictures I sent - if its too light I may just have the car wrapped in Carpathian instead of the PPF - although my last two Defenders were both Carpathian so maybe its time for a change and a slightly lighter grey - I think it will look killer, and separate it from the regular Defenders.
There are no physical Octas in the Charente that I've seen - the only prototypes ive seen have been in the Faroe Green or the Petra Copper. I think you'll only seen them in this color once the builds start showing up for customers in March.
