New Pivi 4.0.0 update is incoming
I just love the fact that I have a 110 on order, due in August, and have really no idea if I am to receive the IDD or the Analog. beyond frustrating reading this new bit of info regarding the Apple map function. I can't believe I would reject delivery after waiting so long but on the other hand how can I even accept it??

It is really a "between a rock and a hard place" situation to be. I would only accept the analog display if I was paying for a base Defender model in the mid$60ks price range and gearing towards off-road only. Never if I was paying $80k plus for a loaded model. But it is easy for me to say this since i am not in your shoes and have not waited months-long in anticipation for the car. Honestly, if you are in the latter situation, I would just take my money and start looking in the pre-owned market for a lightly used one (tons of them available these days). Usually a 2021/2022 model bought by soccer moms that find the car "cute" and never went close to a gravel road. Good luck.

My Software Updates screen still says "Installed" because technically it never really got an update - they re-programmed Pivi as if it was fresh from the factory, rather than "updating" from a previous version. But I can tell from having CarPlay maps in the driver display, and the other things mentioned in the above bulletin, I'm definitely on 4.0.0.
I had to delete my phone and reconnect it as if it were a new phone (told the vehicle to forget the phone, and also my phone to forget the vehicle in both Bluetooth and CarPlay settings), and for at least the first drive, Pivi didn't seem to recognize that CarPlay was fully connected (the CarPlay button on the driver's side status bar didn't actually launch CarPlay, it went to the new "Smart Devices" settings but didn't acknowledge CarPlay was connected; going into Connectivity --> Smart Devices where Android Auto and CarPlay have moved to didn't say anything about CarPlay, etc - but I could get maps and music to work in CarPlay - it was weird). Then I was in DFNDY looking at my USB connectors later in the evening, and everyone was working back the way I expected, with the updates mentioned in the 4.0.0 release bulletin.
So - while I doubt you'll get many dealerships to do a manual update as per the N795 bulletin like I did if your car has been receiving them in the past, it is definitely out there for North America now and I would guess might slowly start coming out OTA?

https://landroverforums.com/forum/20...dating-117907/I haven't seen anyone know when it'll be released OTA, but I had my vehicle in for the USB-C shortage bulletin, and also asked them if it was unusual that mine was built in Aug 2022, delivered Dec 2022, and still had never received an OTA update. They said it showed "up to date" but couldn't tell me what version I was on... I pointed them to service bulletin N795 which refers to vehicles being stuck and never getting an OTA update. Although my VIN wasn't flagged against that campaign, they went ahead and did it just in case that would resolve the problem (involves re-flashing the TCU, doing a full Pivi software recovery, and resetting some "SOTA Persistency" flag in their update system). Lo and behold - I had Apple CarPlay in my driver's display when I got back in the car. Apparently if they do an in-shop update using Topix Cloud (the Pathfinder replacement for all things Land Rover troubleshooting etc.) it'll give you 4.0.0.

) and will ask for this.
Depending on your model year and production date, Field Action N728 may apply to you (you'll receive a letter in the mail) because you didn't get USB ports in the front dash on the passenger side (in the "trough" for lack of a better word?) as well as in the 2nd row below the air vents (where the 4 blanks are). They will place 1 USB-C in the front passenger dash, and two USB-C in the 2nd row below the air vents (leaving 2 blanks). You can then, if you want, buy the splitter loom from PowerfulUK and add maybe 2 USB-A, or a USB-A and another USB-C, etc. - so that you have 4 power points back there. (adding a CLA isn't recommended because you can draw a lot of power out of a CLA depending on what you plug in, but PowerfulUK does note that there is a fuse on the wiring harness from the vehicle).
