I've finished going thru the last 10 pages of threads skimming and logging all the different reports. Contact the members if you want details or to confirm I didn't F' anything up before purchase....(you were warned), but here's all the tires reported in that size. If someone knows how to host the full XLS, I'll post it for the "Community Good".



Ping @JesseRohr - he had this setup and had no rub at any height, if I recall properly. BUT he had bad experience with the KO2's and went with Nitto's. I think I got that right. Confirm with him.

Wow this is amazing, you could probably host it on google drive and make a view only link to it. also FYI I have a 2022 110 S, and have since tried 20mm spacers on the fronts with the same cooper tires. I am happy to report the 20mm spacers do not cause any rubbing. It is very very close, but they clear the lining with ~1mm to spare in access height.

I have no clue how anyone has gotten this size (275/55/20) to work with 30mm spacers on the front. I suspect that some may not be realizing there is rubbing, as the rubbing happens when the wheel is about half a turn back from full lock. So during install a visual inspection might look ok, even in access height. While driving you also may not notice anything in normal height either, as the rubbing is more of a light graze, perhaps my tires make this more noticeable than with KO2's. If you don't need access height you might be fine driving like this, as it is a very minor rub. But if you drive around in access height you will get significant rubbing. In access height at Half a turn back from full lock it was pushing pretty hard on the duct/vent holes in the front end of the wheel well lining. They are relatively soft plastic, so It won't bind up and might not break them right away, but it'll definitely cause damage over time. I can't imagine how a different tire of the same size would not rub in access height while actually driving around.

Thanks, @Iceman153 . I think several times I saw different Members report different results with the same set up. I think it often gets down to the exact vehicle specs (air vs. coil) which often wasn't/isn't disclosed. Also, air pressure may come into play (regular v. light load). That's why I tried to capture everyone's experience. Some of them likely come with a lot of "it depends". If someone is on the edge, I recommend that they contact the member who posted the result to check before writing a check.

Good points, coils don't have access height, so I guess if they posted it works in access height then we can assume they have air. But the point of my post was more that some members might be rubbing and not noticing that they are. As if you don't actually drive around in access height, like in a low clearance parking garage, you might not have realized that the tires actually do rub.

I got a laugh reading your reply. It made me imagine that they don't notice slight/light rubbing because the increase in road noise makes them unaware of the rub! That may be true. They just don't notice it with the new more aggressive or louder tires. You may have something there.

Not what I meant, Lol, but that could be another factor... I was supposing that It would be easy for someone to not notice rubbing in access height if you don't actually drive around in access height. A visual inspection with the wheel at full lock might look ok as the rubbing happens at half a turn back from full lock.

The KO2's may actually not rub in normal height at low speed on flat ground given how mild my rubbing was. As you say, rubbing in more extreme conditions (which I bet there is) may be masked by the tire noise. However in access height I feel pretty confident guaranteeing that 275/55/20 with 30mm spacers will rub with any tire at any usable pressure. In my case it was pushing the lining back, wasn't even close.

Anyway, for those thinking of trying 30mm's on the front, I'd recommend buying one set of 30's, trying them on the front, and if they rub just buy a set of 25/20mm ones and move the 30's to the back. Don't be an idiot like me and buy both sets before you get the car only to find out they don't fit after you can't return them anymore :P

I have a P400 SE and just did the Lucky8 caliper swap with Tuffant 18x8 wheels.
Tires are Toyo Open Country AT III LT265/70R18. The fronts just barely touch the liner at full lock in normal height. The diameter for these tires is 32.6 inches. I looked at Ridge Grapplers in LT265/70R18 and the diameter is 32.87 inches, so they would rub a little more.
If you're looking to go this route, note that there is very little clearance both front and back between the calipers and wheels, which can make the wheel balancing more difficult. The first shop I went to did not do a good job and the weights were hitting the calipers.

This thread has convinced me that I will likely just stick with the 255/60/20 size and suck it up and put on Goodyear Duratracs when the time comes (if no one else has produced all terrains in that size yet.)

Default 275/55R20 Toyo AT3

Just picked up a set of 275/55R20 Toyo Open Country AT3s. Love the way the look and drive. You can feel that they are a more substantial tire but they are smooth and I notice no increased road noise.

Continental Viking Contact 7 275/55/R20T on Braelin BR08 on my 110X for the fast-approaching winter. No rubbing (so far) even in access height although there’s only about 1cm clear in full lock.
