so I have the parts list for everything I circled in my picture above for both sides, which comes out to about $5200 (figure 6k as their will prob be misc parts needed). So definitely cheaper and much higher quality than going with some knock off kit. I also need to determine if the full front fender is necessary (currently priced with it). Obviously the real question here would be sizing the wheels appropriately for the increased width since this wouldn't be done via the suspension. So using a less positive offset to push the wheels out, the only remaining question would be would it rub at full lock as it would be increasing the scrub radius.

just confirmed with my dealer parts department and another independent parts sourcethe octa uses the exact same fender as the rest of the 110. so it's just the flares creating the additional width.

Adding wheel spacers or wider offset wheels is going to reduce the tire scrub radius considerably. If just a wide stance look is the goal, then it should work fine but the more outboard the wheels, the less diameter the fender liner space can handle without modifications.
The OCTA has a lot more space inside the fenders to easily allow a 34" tire for example, whereas that size requires a lot of work on the other models.

Franky I don't see a good cost/benefit ratio for this plan.

Are you basing this off the increased track and suspension geometry changes? Because fenders and inner liners are the same as the regular defenders. I hear what you are saying on the scrub radius. hence my hesitation on this.

Do you mind sharing the list of part numbers you found? I tried looking up the part numbers from https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...nd/land-rover/ on land rover oem parts sites but they weren't found. Thanks!

1-what makes you think the inner liner is "the same" ? Part numbers ? I don't see how the liner could be the same when it has to come out to the wider edge of the octa flare. I need to start learning which parts ARE the same for repairs and such.

2-so how is it that an OCTA can fully use a 34" tire with no need for any of the modifications all the other defenders require ?

3-I know the mounting surface for the octa wheels, at the hub, is further away from the body, so when using a factory wheel with its close offset of ET 41, maybe that is the magic allowing the 34" tires to clear just fine. Whereas a wheel spacer only makes the clearance points worse.

All I know is that these 34" - 275/65-20 on factory 8.5" wheels just have plenty of room in there in all the movements with the only spot even close being at the front mud flaps.

Adding octa flares to a standard defender is then going to pretty much require a wider offset wheel or spacers, which will then only limit usable tire diameter. For a low profile factory spec tire, it would look cool though - like the "urban" body kits.

This is a view of the rear of an OCTA in the showroom. The original fender is visible, along with the wider OCTA flare. I was able to press my fingers under the rubber seal between the two. The front looked different as the fender line extended to the edge of the OCTA flare.
