Default Oil change access upgrade

Have been wanting to perform this upgrade to make oil changes quicker and easier. Although there are many here that use the Mity-Vac oil extractor for performing oil changes, I am old school and still like getting under the vehicle. That way I get to see things that would otherwise be missed. One of the biggest issues, and complaints about this method are the numerous bolts that need to be removed, before removing the under carriage armor to get access to the drain plug. When I purchased the FUMOTO drain valve I needed to come up with a solution which would enable quick access to the valve without removing the many bolts and armor. This way I can remove two bolts in the diamond plate, swing the plate out of the way, attach the included drain hose, route it into my catch basin and open the valve. Then while the oil is draining, I replace the oil filter, close the drain valve, rotate the diamond plate back into place, replace the two retaining bolts and reward myself with a cold beer.

Very nice! If I don't trade mine in for an upgrade I'm gonna have to do this.

This is a very cool and neatly done mod.

Makes me almost wish I didn't have a MityVac. Almost

Clever ! My issue with the valve has always been something getting up in there and ripping it off while in the woods. But you have solved for that with the cover and the riv-nut.
