Default Oil for the D MHEV

Does anyone have a spec recommendation for the diesel mild hybrid 3.0?

Also has anyone found an oil filter part number that is on Amazon?

what is total oil capacity on the 3.0 diesel?

thanks!

Oil Type needed is Here SAE 0W-30 meeting Jaguar Land Rover specification STJLR.03.5007

9.8 L capacity of oil in the diesel 3.0 is listed Here

Oil filter on amazon is
Here Here
Fits the 3.0L Diesel and Petrol engines apparently

@alps.defender - Study the oil a LOT. This isn't your Dad's 0W-30 (or whatever). You need to have the specific product number because there are horror stories about this. Lots of posts re: the oil, in fact if you go up to the three permanent threads one is on this topic. You should go back to the perma-thread and read thru it. Much better info up there already than regenerating here: Link. Good luck and the video is priceless!

thanks for the links, I’ll keep digging on other websites beyond Amazon as over here in Europe that filter doesn’t show up, and the specified E version of the 0W-30 is 20 bucks a liter! If anyone has found a cheaper solution please share.

thanks, read through that one a few times but it focuses on the petrol engine. Thought I’d start one for the diesel 3.0 folks so people don’t get confused and get the wrong oil.

Hello everyone! Oil for diesel engines and filters I compare Oil Filter for Duramax Diesel Engines on this site https://southwestexpresslube.com/oil...iesel-engines/. Very useful information for car owners, especially since the advantages of one or another filter for different types of engines are indicated here.

Default Half an oil change

Could only get out 5L with the vacuum extractor. Tried everything I could think of but that’s all I could get out. Have it all back together and topped off, not happy but I feel better than before, at 24k km…. Can’t believe the standard Land Rover service waits until 34k km before they change it…

New filter and half an oil change better than nothing I guess, but if anyone else has had trouble with the diesel via vacuum or figured out a trick please share.

Not sure what kind of extractor you're using, but if it's the "standard" one that should hold the entire Defender oil change, then you likely don't have complete connection at one of the air couplings or didn't push the end of the hose down the dip stick far enough. Sad it didn't work for you. Hope for better success next time.
