I also have a 2020 which I have attempted to enable self parking, however, my end result may be slightly different than what you described.

I got the menu icon and when I press it, I get a new page which displays a small steering wheel with a smaller black square with a “P” slightly offset from the wheel center.

it isn’t greyed out but nothing happens when I press it. Just a bit of trivia bc in the end, it still does not work.

 

Is this the screen you are referring to?

OTA software update is not the relevant variable to the activation/non-activation of the park assist.
