Default P300 Oil Filter Wrench

Was is the best wrench to use to remove oil filter on the P300 (2.0 Liter engine)? I purchased the

Steelman Low Profile Oil Filter Cap Wrench Socket 65mm and 67mm x 14 Flute, 3/8-inch Drive, Heavy Duty Chrome Vanadium Steel

from Amazon and while the wrench does fit, when I insert my 3/8 inch ratchet it pushes the socket off the filter. Very frustrating.

Many thanks,

Thunderbob

I use my hand. Torque on these is low. Hand loosen, hand tighten.

Don't push your socket wrench too far in. It doesn't need to go over the little ball on the wrench.

I put the oil filter tool on the filter, then push the socket wrench into the tool just far enough to make a connection, and twist it.

BTW I have a ton of these types of oil filter tools and they all do what happened to you to varying degrees.
