Default P400 Mileage

I'm curious what gas mileage everyone is getting with the P400. I was actually excited when ordering the car because the EPA rating was 3 MPG better than the 5.0 in my LR4, but after 1000 miles (still early) I'm getting 2MPG worse that the LR4. Ours is driven mostly in the city, and on road trips is often pulling a 5000lb trailer. The LR4 sticker showed 14MPG combined and we achieved about 13, the Defender was rated at 17 combined and we're just shy of 11 (US Gallons obviously)

14 average City driving; 18 - 21 highway driving. My vehicle is on the heavier side with all the options (3rd row seats, winch, roof rack, side tubes, etc.)

At least the Defender holds one more gallon of gas than the LR4. My LR4 just makes it from my house to the Mobil station off exit 10 in Stowe, VT on one tank of gas. On those slower trips in bad weather using snow mode, the low fuel light is on before I even get to the exit.

Over 5700 miles my average is 19.3mpg, those miles are ~30% city and 70% highway.

Mine gets 10 or so in town, 13 on the highway cruise set at 77mph. I only have about 800 miles on mine so far. It's a pig so far.

People talk a lot about the effects of driving style on fuel efficiency, but rarely do I ever hear them talk about terrain. I live in western Pennsylvania where the hills easily knock 3 mpg off EPA estimates.

Just got back from a trip to Panamint & Death Valley, which combined lots of off-road as well as freeway driving. Trip was 1018 miles at 21.8 mpg at an average speed of 40mph. On the freeway driving, I've found that the sweet spot on my '21 D90 seems to be around 63mph -- on a different trip from San Jose to Orange County, I averaged 27.5mph - spend time tucked in behind big rigs in the slow lane.

I have just over 17,000 miles on mine and I can’t get more than 14.4 with out the trailer “5500 lbs fully loaded “ and with it it’s about 10.5 to 11 mpg.
