Haven’t seen it mentioned here yet, but for those using the LAND ROVER REMOTE app, it stores all your trips and gives you your origin, destination, date and time you departed, date and time you arrived, duration, average speed, miles traveled, and ‘efficiency’ or MPG. This is all contained in the JOURNEYS menu selection.By reviewing and analyzing these numbers you can get a good understanding of which types of trips and speeds and distances give the best results. My mileage has ranged anywhere from 14 to 23 MPG, depending on those factors, and that is with a fairly spirited acceleration. I would venture to guess that if I drove extremely cautious, ECON mode, light foot on the pedal, gentle acceleration it would probably be in the upper 20’s. I’ve also discovered that higher highway speeds yield the lowest mileage, most likely due to the less than aerodynamic, boxy profile. But it’s waaay too much fun driving around to worry about my mileage yield. And on another quirky feature, if one were ever called in by the FBI or other investigative agency, for instance by a wife or girlfriend, your whereabouts, route and time stamp would prove you were where you said you were going. Never know.

Wouldn’t that be the last thing you wanted?

I think you missed the point. Read my comment again. It’s all tongue in cheek, but IF you were accused of something you know you are innocent of, or of being somewhere you were not; let’s say your wife thinks you were playing poker at the casino, instead of volunteering at the food shelter like you told her, this would vindicate you by proving you were where you said you were going. It was an attempt at humor, but when it has to be explained it loses something in the translation.

Did you miss the smiley at the end of my comment?

Ok, first, thank you.

I've often described my wife's driving style as binary (it's either on or off the gas), so I've always thought her, uhhhh less conservative than I.

I mean it's not hard for me to get in her Defender and drive it a while and the rating goes from say 18 to 19, maybe even slightly more if we're going any distance and I can keep it under 80.

But I can't think of a moment I've ever seen 16 or 17 when I get in. And never less.

Crap I was pissed when I was struggling to get to 20 in my Wrangler earlier this week (loaded down and headed for the OBX).

So you guys who have posted even lower mileage have given me another reason to love my wife.... Thanks.

But whatever the f you do, DON'T TELL HER...

Thanks in advance,

Kev

NoBaBilker: Now I see it! I’m old school, have never been on any social media, nor do I care to. So the smiley things and icons are not the first things I see. I thought you were being literal and missed my weird scenario. But certainly that trail of bread crumbs left on the app could be a bad thing to a mass murderer or someone trying to cover their tracks. Maybe I’ve watched too many crime scene TV shows.

It’s all good, Chuck!

As for mileage, I just checked: 15.6. That’s over the last 1200 miles.

Do you use the REMOTE app? Besides using it for remote start and being able to set the A/C so it’s nice and cool when I get in, I love all the info it provides. How much fuel is remaining, miles to go before empty, locked or unlocked, with the ability to lock it remotely if you forgot. And the information provided in the ‘Journeys’ menu tab is great for tracking fuel consumption. The REMOTE app is one of the least referenced features in all of these posts. A little hidden gem, if you ask me.

I can't seem to get past approval of the terms and conditions. Apparently there is a secret link I'm supposed to go to while it's open but I haven't found the patience to figure it out.

LOL, it’s not just me then?

I got a little further than you but they were supposed to email me a confirmation to reply to and it never came, not in spam, not anywhere. So I can’t log in since I never confirmed my email.

Why is it LR’s web presence is about equivalent to all their other electronics?

It does sound like a nice freebie, though, if I can ever get it working. Thanks for pointing it out, Chuck.
