Installed last night. Hadn't seen anyone post up about it so ...
Noticed no changes. It did take a full 35 mins to install because I went back to use the car about 20 mins later and it was still installing, I had to wait !
Thanks for this post! As an old guy averse to change and being away from the truck for weeks at a time I am mortified at updates for fear I have to reset everything when I return. Love the input!

The 'hesitation' I have now, and this fix sounds great.
It (temporarily?) solved my locking rear differential clunking and small hesitation. Locking pattern seems different, (center comes first waits and then rear, previously was center and immediately after rear) but n=1.
Shout out to JLR New Rochelle that fixed a broken steering wheel clock spring [airbag light on] in 10hr and delivered to my door! I was well impressed.

Thanks for sharing that thumbs-up for your dealer. They are among the Unicorns when it comes to dealer feedback. More horror stories than success stories as evidenced in this forum. But they deserve the credit for your treatment and customer satisfaction.

.
That's interesting that you pay that much attention. I should probably pay more attention to the locker icons.
I updated my Velar last night to v4.2.1, it was a scheduled update. I have gone to the car this morning as the rear red lights were flickering and I cannot get in with the key fob. I have managed to get in manually but it won't start. A dead battery.
It was fine prior to the update.

you need a battery charger on for any updates or Gap Tool changes just to make sure battery doesn't die mid way.
I successfully, and uneventfully, ran the 4.2.0 to 4.2.1 update on my 2023MY 110x two nights ago. I haven't seen or felt any materially changes but confess to not paying detailed attention to look for nuances.
I had the update notice several days before running it but was traveling. I make it a point of trying not to run updates when traveling unless there's some materially critical fix that may be needed/available. My battery was well charged as I had returned from a several hundred mile road trip a few hours before running the update and I did not need a GAP tool.
