Priorities for new Defender?
Guys, BEARLY is getting ready to visit Ralf's people up at Sarek Moterverk in Richmond.
I have a few toys for her, l'orange recovery eyes, aux backup lights, Lucky8 quad pod lightbar, and I will probably unlock various "activations", though there aren't many.
Then were off to Charleston for ceramic coating and skereo upgades, Valentine1 mounted to the rear view, should be really ready for patrol...
Any other things I might have not thought about? PPF doesn't work for me, although I guess I might be convinced to do the front.

How about a set of those Land Rover logo valve stem caps. A pair of Land Rover truck nuts would be nice. PPF’ed nuts are an option as well. No convincing me on the extra protection. Just the underside though.

I was considering adding the extra plate up front - just in case. It exposes the front recovery eye if I read correctly.
I also added the rear table which is one of the most used "accessories" I have. I use it all the time when camping or when its a nice day and I've just run through the burger drive-thru
. Enjoy!
Ah, awesome! I recommend covering the back bumper near the cargo area with something like this and then if you're adding the rear tow hooks you can pair it with these. If you're gonna be really using the Defender it will save your rear bumper from scratches when loading and unloading the car.

I have looked at the table, it's entirely possible. I want to see just how much picnic time we will get. Nothing I love more than to make a couple NC BBQ sliders and head out with a stocked fridge.
Love the question, but you'll get a wide variety of suggestions of things to do to it. What's your budget? Since you look to be somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I figure you want to off-road more - East Coast style. If so, here's my list, in order:
- Change the wheels. Either replace the Calipers (Sarek's can do that as do others in the area) or grind them. Get 18's.
- Change the tires. If you have new wheels, you'll need to do this. I suspect you'll need better running gear more than you will increased lighting.
- Can't tell if you've modified the lift rods. I highly recommend going 1 to 1.5 inches. Unless you are primarily an offroader, I don't think you need a body lift - but Sarek can DEFINITELY do that if it's in your plans/budget.
- Your likelihood of needing those tow-hooks greatly diminish if you're alone: get a winch/your flavor of front bull bars. Though the recovery needs will diminish with better traction.
- GMRS. Not sure if you ride with others or solo. If solo, toss that.
- Roof rack. Not sure what you're putting the lighting onto. If the "aux backup lights" are the PowerfulUk style, brighter ones - then no need. If something additional, they typically go up top and will need it.
- Again, not sure how aggressive you plan to go, but East coast, definitely get the limb raisers if you don't want the "Kentucky pinstripes". I don't like driving around with them on roads, but they are fairly easy to clip in/out once you have the mounts in place.
Good luck and post lots of pics (hippy or otherwise) along the way!
Tons of dew dads for in and out, but if you want to be an off-road hooligan or plan to go off road, you may want to do a few functional changes.

no lift needed. I might change the wheels / rims & tires down the road. For now I am fine with the stock Wranglers.
I am going to see how deep I get offroading before I go with the winch and roo bar, but I know Sarek can fix me up.
I will likely get a round tuit with the GAP iid tool. First t things first, needs a good interior preventative measures and ceramic coating on the exterior. I have polycarbonate headlight covers (the nice ones) and then the grill goes over them.
Leave those crappy $25 - $30 set on the shelf, or add to your local dumpster fire.
Expect to pay $120 or so for these. (Alibaba)
I am strongly thinking about the "quad pod" from a Chinese source, since it appears Lucky8 will sell them, but they don't have any.
I know, mostly show, but I have alterior motives. So I am told you can can't those outer pair 20° and get better side to side lighting for my twisty mountain roads - and 4 mile unpaved "driveway" headed down the back side of the Big Tom Wilson (bear) Preserve. Already noted tow / recovery eyes, aux backup (like PowerfulUK's).
I am "W4MYR", a 'ham', so radio will be quad band, 7m, 20m and two GMRS bands on top of the full amateur radio.
Focal KX2 speakers, should be the trick? We'll see... They're certainly pricey enough!
