Default rain sensing wipers

do the rain sensing wipers work when you turn the wipers in the off position? does it work only when its in the intermittent mode? I keep the rain sensing off because I don't want it to accidentally turn on when I'm in the automatic carwash.

They only work when on Auto, which is one up from off. Personally, I just move it to the off position when going through a touchless wash.

not sure if it will accidentally turn ON when it detects moisture even in the OFF position.

It would have to be a serious system failure which I suppose could always happen in any system, though very rare.

I just bump them down to off when going through a car wash. They don't turn back on until you pop the stalk up one position, back to auto.
