Hey guys,

So 5 of my close friends all have new Defenders - and only 1 of those Defenders has the feature where it alerts him of red light camera.
I saw it yesterday while driving passenger, it's not connected to his phone or anything - what option is this?

Mine does it through Apple Maps and Waze, but he doesn't have either of those set up. None of our other friends are aware of their Defender doing this.

 

I've never noticed either, but I typically use Waze or google maps. I would look in All Settings > Apps > Navigation > Alerts. I know there's an option for Safety Cameras in there. Perhaps that's it? Will keep an eye out for other responses if someone knows for sure.

 

I checked and mine has that and even had it selected already. It says "France and other countries were permitted" which is odd. Also, maybe location in the country matters? I live in Northern California, he lives in Oklahoma, but we were in Boulder, Colorado - when I noticed it, he seemed just as surprised about the red light camera alert - it was only on the pivo screen and came across like an app notification - but he didnt even have his phone on him while we were driving, and I saw it the whole time we were there

 

It's a function of the Pivi navigation app (basically the same as the Here We Go app for Android).

 

Mine does it (2020 110 X) in Pivi natively. Little pop up window slides in I think on the left. There's a road near my house that I get it every time I drive past. And every time I like that it reminds me.

I do think I remember seeing a setting somewhere in the pivi nav about it.

 

It's strange, I've never noticed it on our Defender though getting the keys out of my wife's hands is difficult to say the least. Our loaner Defenders at work seem to give the warning. I'm working with a customer's 25 RRS and it does not come up, we did find the route preferences tab to turn it on and we are inputting an address where we know a camera is set up to see if that will make it give the warning. I will check back if it works or I will keep looking

 

Mine does in the PIVI. I think the PIVI has to be selected in the Home Screen as the active navigation app.
