No prob! I went down the Simon rabbit hole once again this past Sunday watching hours of his videos, again and the voice commands was one of the last ones I watched. Realized how much I do not use voice commands as much as I should.

It does get tedious entering an address using the touch screen, both on our mobile devices and in the vehicle, but you also have the option of using the Voice Command button on the steering wheel. The list of controls you can access is fairly long, such as changing the fan speed and the temperature of the Climate Control, or asking it to navigate you to your destination. Or on the PIVI screen when the keyboard screen pops up in Navigation one can press the microphone icon instead of tapping out all those numbers and letters. I got so tired of trying to enter reminders, appointments, alarms, timers, etc with large fingers attempting to hit the correct tiny letter on the iPhone keyboard that I use Siri for just about everything. Somewhere there is a complete list of the available Voice Commands for the Defender. Haven’t found it yet during my recent searches, but I will post it when I locate it.
I would love to use voice commands, but for some reason PIVI and I don't appear to speak the same version of English, and it gets really confused when I yell "No, not in F*#king Indiana!!! None of those!!! That doesn't even sound like what I said!

Is your Pivi set to American English or British English? Mine is set to British English, and once in a while I have to say a phrase or a word in an English accent for it to pick up. Usually the voice control works exceptionally well, much better than old JLR systems. It wasn't that long ago when voice control systems were completely hopeless.

I haven't messed with it much so I'm not sure anymore. I should probably try it again when im just sitting in my driveway instead of trying to get it to give me directions quickly when I'm in traffic in downtown Seattle.

That's one of my favorite features of the BMW app. I can do a Google search for a store, restaurant, etc, hit "directions" which opens Google Maps, then hit "share directions" which brings up the option to send it to my i7. When I get in the car, it is already there.

Mine is set to British but I like it when it talks to me with a British accent much better -- AND I like speaking to the car in a British accent because it makes my passengers laugh uncontrollably -- so I leave it that way.
