Apparently, although I haven’t verified, someone tried it on here a few years ago, and the sides are different on the 5 seater floor cover. Also, there’s nothing underneath it to support it from sagging.

I’ve been hot to trot to rip out my 3rd row seats to get rid of the weight (I have no kids and would like the storage space under neath) ..but havent done so as it seems a bit of a construction project. it creates a few problems so the factory 5 seater parts can’t be used really. 3 notably:

1 -- Apparently the rear cargo side trims are vastly different between 5 and 7 seater models (ie what is between the B and C pillars )

2 -- And the way the 2nd row seats hook in on each side to those side panels is also vastly different, just FYI. 5 seaters have metal prongs that stick out, 7 seaters have recessed latches. So it starts to become swapping your second row seats to for a true 7 seater to 5 seater change of the interior., which is completely ridiculous and I dont think anyone has done that.

3 -- And then the last difference is this floor cover. I have been trying to source a used 5 seater floor cover, and then see if I could trim it or reshape it, to fit the floor if I removed my 3rd row. Which would work if it’s “bigger” than the hole. But I’m not sure. There’s also the “Commercial” cover avail in the UK that might work. Most people just make their own out of plywood and whatever else.

Commercial floor cover - seems to be same shape as 5 seater MHEV floor, ish, maybe adoption and probably good and durable and I think it comes with a hinge, although on a 7 seater, nothing to fasten the hinge to. Pics below.

I can add a little insight to buying some of the parts for a 5 seater after removing the 3rd row.

To install my 2nd battery system I removed the 3rd row. I have a P400 MHEV. That third row is very heavy by the way. I then fashioned my own brackets, cross member for support, mounting tray and finally a lift up lid/new floor. It actually worked out pretty well. I fully removed the small flip up piece that sat behind the 3rd row. I reused the mounting pieces from that for my new floor and covered the floor with rubber. My new floor was mad of 1/2" plywood. It was not hinged or anything and just sat back there. Worked perfectly fine.

Then I decided I wanted to add a drawer system to the back. I bought something from the UK but it was designed for 5 seater and meant to sit on the lip of the side rails.. The main difference with the 5 seater is the side rails (area with the cargo tie downs) is longer and has slightly differ lip on it for the 5 seater lid. I ordered the 5 seater rails and installed them. I ended up having to cut off about an inch on the end facing the 2nd row. It is in an area where no one will ever see that I cut it. It appears the 2nd row in the 7 seater versions of the 110 sit a little further back then 5 seater. Also it made me realize that 5 seater rear floor would not fit back their as it will be slightly to long, sits further forwards, and will catch on the 2nd row if you ever try to lift it up to get access underneath.

In general if you go with a 5 seater floor you got to remember that there is typically foam and some other pieces underneath that give it structural support. I don't think even in the 5 seater you could take out that foam underneath and put a lot of weight back there.

If I were just wanting to remove the third row and not get the drawer system. I would cut a piece of plywood to fit the existing side rails in the 7 seater. You will still need to some kind of support arcoss the width. Then cover that floor with automotive carpet or sheet rubber.

 

Cracking good info. You dont have pictures of this side rail / cuts on the replacement 5 seater side rails, do you? What you have done sounds exactly what I’d’ like to do.

 

I don't think I took any pictures to document when I changed out the side rails. I am out of town for the next week but will try to remember to take some when I get back. The 5 seater side rails fit in exactly where the 7 seater ones did. I do think it takes one more bolt or one of those plastic screw things but other wise all the mounting points are basically the same. You will have to unbolt the bottom of the seatbelt as the 5 seater rail doesn't have the slot for that. And then like I said you will need to trim a little bit off of it near the 2nd row. Not much. I suppose you could just scoot the 2nd row forward a little bit and not trim the pieces. But then that leaves a decent gap between the floor and seats, perfect to loose stuff.

Honestly I am not sure you really need to convert to the 5 seater side rail piece unless you are installing a accessory that would require it (like my drawer system) as it doesn't provide any other benefit other than the hinged floor that won't work anyways because of the second row seats. Keep the 7 seater side rails and just cut a large piece of plywood to cover the opening and install one cross member to help support the weight.

 

I'd be happy to take measurements of my 5-seat cargo floor so you can see if it'd be possible to trim it down to fit. Let me know if you'd want me to do that.

 

Anyone know if the Commercial Floor cover will fit into a 110 5 seater? Looks much more sturdy than the standard piece. I do see that the Commercial unit has an understructure that this bolts into, but I cannot tell if that is to support the undertray the Commercial has or to support the Floor cover.
