Has anyone found a reseller that sells just the mounting arms for the side mounted gear carrier? I scoured the web and checked the regular places (powerfulUK, Lucky8, ebay) but haven't found any. These have a few years of fade and I've applied trim resorter on them a couple of times over the years, they just don't hold up compared to rest of the trim on the vehicle. I can always buy a knockoff gear carrier kit off eBay but feels like a waste.

I've seen this same issue on other Defenders, I hope they resolved this quality issue in more recent years of production.

 

You could paint them with some Silver or Black trim paint. I bet with little effort they will clean up great.

The knock off trims would work just fine, but I also think they can be painted or cleaned up.
