Default Side steps that wont corrode?

I purchased 110 side steps from hunters prestige 2 years ago and after 2 winters the paint has completely flaked off on both sides and looks like **** now.

Any recommendations on where to order all black 110 side steps that will last?

The quality of the powder finish and prep for materials especially aluminum is very important. Not too many manufacturers will do high quality finish in an attempt to lower pricing. Our aluminum products go thru an ECC process to prep for powdercoating. This is done at a facility that is similar to corrosion protection performed at auto manufacturing plants. Similar to anodizing, it creates a bond between the aluminum and the finish coating that prevvents corrosion creeping and flaking. It may chip with an impact, but will not cause corrosion to creep under the rest of the coating as with most other aluminum products. Good prep for steel and other metals is also very important. This is another case of getting what you pay for. Proper finish work is not cheap, so it tends to make the finished product more expensive.

We do not sell a proprietary step only, the step is incorporated into our rock sliders. Here is a link to those

The reality is that most of Hunters Prestige’s parts are knockoffs sourced from China remarketed as high end accessories -- so this isn’t surprising. You’d do better for durability / quality with the genuine LR side steps but you can’t offroad with those at all, as I’m sure you are aware. Certain rock sliders function very well as side steps too, as Sarek points out.

What about Urban? Are those side steps cheap China knockoffs as well? I don't offroad with this vehicle, so I would get the LR oem ones, but they don't offer them in all black.

They offer black with silver steps and all black steps now.
OEM ones from online dealer costs 1400-1600 while knockoff version without Defender logo is 200-300 (with Defender logo version is 350-450). So it's somewhat tough to swallow.

Also on the side note, I have eBay all black OEM style without the Defender logo currently for Defender 90. But the kit came with all 4 exactly the same mounting bracket (front bracket should be longer than rear - same for both Defender 90 and 110). Installing steps with all 4 same brackets make step look too high on the front (almost touch the body) and lower on the back. So make sure to check with online vendor if you're buying non-OEM version.
