Spacers for wheel arch protector

Do you know if you have to cut the wheel studs for 30mm spacers? Or what size spacers do you not have to cut the studs?

Question about the arches, does it really widen the car a bit or just give the visual look of wider look but doesn’t really change the width?
I’m on the fence about them and find them both (with & without) look great in different angles. I would only add them if they give the real world difference in width.

all defender oem wheel options have the same offset beside the 22’s
41.5 for the 19 and 20’s
44.5 for the 22’s but they are wider hence the higher offset
30mm is the perfect offset to sit flush with fenders.
i am running aftermarket wheels with a 10mm offset and they sit flush to the large fenders
with a 30 spacer it will bring your net offset close to 10
