As I previously stated, I think the Toyo’s are awesome. It may be “confirmation bias” but I really think they are the quietest of the three you are considering. I had Nitto’s on my G-wagon and replaced them after 2200 miles due to the noise. The Toyo’s were noticeably quieter and frankly the ride was much better.

Thanks! Appreciate the follow up.

Default Tpms????

Ok, narrowing down eventual tire choices but in the meantime figured I’d switch the wheels today so my LR4 can get the Defender stock 22’s and my D130 400 can get my LR4 stock 20 wheels with Ridge Grappler 285/50/r20. Borrowed a nice jack and jack stands, all set to go.

Now it just dawned on me I have TPMS. I’m pretty sure this is wishful thinking…. is there any way the trucks will just recognize the TPMS units after I switch wheels?

If not, looks like I’m headed to tire place and have them do the switch. Watched a video on TPMS replacement, adding that to the process officially puts me at 7 degrees of separation on the time available/comfort level continuum.

By the way, are there any other issues I’m not foreseeing by switching LR4/D130 wheels? Different offset or anything else? My tire choice is based on advice on this site, but most of that advice is based on New Defender wheels.

They should swap over and the system should auto detect the new tpms from the other wheels

The only thing I can't remember, LR switched from 315mhz to 433mhz frequency at some point and I can't now remember whether LR4 was the same as defender. You can look that up online (it depends a bit on country too). Assuming they are the same frequency then yes, they will just swap

This is what my digging found. I can’t attest as to the accuracy but the poster appeared to be working with known info.

2014 was the transition year from 315 Mhz to 433 Mhz. If your VIN is lower than EA140910 then they are 315Mhz, EA140911 and up are 433Mz

Yes - exactly.

I run my old Discovery wheels on my Defender as the winter wheels for snow tires and tpms picked right up

Btw first time you swap them on it can take 5-10 minutes of driving to pair. After that they should repair basically straight away if you swap again
