Before I install my radio I'd love to see what type of equipment people are using and where they are mounting their base units and how they are installing their antennas. The radio I have (Midland MXT275 ) has an integrated control mic so I don't necessarily need access to the base unit. I'm also curious how people are running the cable for their antennas and if they are leaving the antennas on their trucks full time or removing when not in use.
Hi Bobbo, I didn’t want to go drilling etc so I fitted the Thunderpole 3000 (short body) CB into an additional cubby tray - it’s easy to remove when not needed, the power goes down the side of the centre console frame into the cigar lighter in the rear (I hate having wires on show) and the aerial lead goes down the console, under the rear foot mats and up the side of the door seals to the roof. Found a chap in the UK who fabricated the metal bracket that fits the roof rails perfectly 👌🏼

Brilliant, thank you, mine is going to be for a mic mount also, I've just fitted the Midland M5 which also has all the controls on the mic and I have mounted the 'box' to the underside of the centre console
