Cayenne GTS / D90 here… Macan GTS previously. Love all of these vehicles for their strengths… There is a line of people wanting to ride along in the Cayenne on autocross days but with carbon brakes any kind of gravel road is totally forbidden. Despite its weight it is a bloody fast and nimble truck.

My daily driver that takes all the wear and tear is the D90 and it’s the pair of keys I grab most often. My only issue with it is that LR doesn’t make a D90 P400 X anymore and when this one is used up I will have to pay significantly more and give up half the features.

New here. Was supposed to close on a '24 Carpathian 110 tomorrow. Dealer called today about the stop sale. He told me it was regarding the oil filter? I hope he is just clueless rather than lying, these dealerships frustrate me. Little info available so I will wait to confront him. He said 1-2 weeks but I know he is talking out of his butt.

Love the truck and will wait for a bit. Can order a 2025 (I guess things fixed by then?) but rather not. Does the 2025 really have a bigger center screen (14")? Could not verify that online. Can't wait to get this truck but willing to wait if a little time brings me something nicer. Thanks for any knowledge you have. Decided to trade my Mercedes CLS (new model) and keep the Wrangler for nasty days and offroad (2017 Rubicon).

A little frustrating but looking forward to this truck. I don't think we have long for these sweet, high horsepower engines. Great forum, looking forward to browsing around. Thanks ahead of time!

Heard it’s an oil filter housing issue. Not sure if all ‘24 V8s are affected. There is probably a VIN list. No estimated time for a fix. Sounds like it could be a long time if it’s a part that needs to be switched out vs a software download.

When you build 2025 if you look at the specs in the options section it will show the screen as 11.4, the dealer also confirmed. I have a 2024 on order that’s expected to be delivered in August. But I asked the dealer to change it to 2025 bc of the screen size.

New member here with 2024 P500 SE

Thought I'd chime in as I did some digging.

Thew were two bulletins published last week, one affecting all 2024 V8s and the other the 3.0 petrol and diesel I6

On June 10th - N907 UPS2824-1 - Failure to comply with Emissions

-this affects the V8 only, and states

"Testing of V8 S/C 5.0L Gasoline Defender vehicles has revealed an inability to meet the noxious gas pollutant levels for every grade of fuel during a certification test drive cycle. As a result, vehicles of this specification do not comply with the certified state and may not be sold or imported into USA, Canada and Mexico until they are capable of meeting the legal limits and as certified state."

On June the 14 they released the following notification of a recall, the 3.0l Ingenium petrol and diesel only, in all 2024-25 JLR vehicles that use that engine

Global Recall Action

Number: N908

"
A concern has been identified where the incorrect specification of plastic was used to manufacture the oil filter housing. The incorrect specification plastic housing will, over time and with vehicle use, crack allowing oil to leak out onto the engine and into the engine compartment. An oil leak under pressure in this area could result in oil coming into contact with hot components on the engine which may result in a fire. Additionally, oil may leak onto the road surface posing a skid hazard to other road users especially two wheeled vehicles, and increase the risk of a crash."

And

"JLR retailers/authorized repairers are reminded that they must not sell vehicles identified as affected by this campaign until such time as the repair has been successfully completed."

Which basically amounts also to a stop sale until the vehicles are repaired. This does NOT apply to the V8 at this time, at least from what has been published so far.

If P400's are being actively sold, then I assume dealers have the parts and are doing the work before the vehicle is released. As this is now a recall, it will be published on the NHTSA website and owners will be notified.

There was a note about "this campaign supersedes
Update Prior to Sale (UPS) notice UPSUPS2924-1 with immediate effect."

So it looks like they have already been doing this for a while on the quiet and have now decided its a safety issue and a recall is justified.

So as far as everyone knows, this applies to both P525 and P500? The P525 engine has been around for so long, you’d think they’d be fine.

Yes, it is a little confusing regarding the engine being available for so long. Hopefully just an ECM update, but who knows about time frame. May just move to ordering a 2025 if it is going to be months. Hopefully they can keep the performance and sound (i.e. no larger or additional cats).

Thank you all for the information and input!

Has anyone heard if LR is providing assistance to people with V8 orders that cannot buy their cars now. My dealer has proposed that I buy a P400 as an alternative but the truck is at another dealer and they want to charge me a transport fee of $950. My thought is that LR should assist their disappointed customers.

In the Netherlands the P525 is fased out for the 110, only V8 P400.
Our absolute idiot co2 taxes makes a P300e € 100K / $ 107K cheaper than a P400 ( see column BPM )
