The only significant interior water ingress issues I’ve heard about on L633 were the early build 90 models - they had a problem with sealing around the bulkhead/pillars. They were filling up with water under the front seats. (Headliners and consoles not getting wet like yours though). There were a few TSBs about it. This was 2021/2022 - awhile ago.

Given where your water is, I’d say it is likely to be a glass pano roof issue, perhaps blocked drains but I will say your Defender seems awful young for blocked drains. Usually you don’t see blocked drains until 3-5 years into service life of an outdoor parked vehicle.

fyi: There are 6 drain areas on L663 on the glass pano roof cars - 4 in front, 2 in rear. All sunroof drains are just inboard of the roof rails on the roof, there is a removeable strip that covers the drainage area. I posted up here about how I cleaned mine out.

You have the glass roof right? You don’t have the fabric roof contraption do you??? Just checking.

I experienced a water ‘incursion’ in my ‘22 Defender 110, except in my case it was owner/operator related, not sunroof drains. And I post this to alert others to be aware of how my plight occurred, and how I dealt with it. Having owned my Defender for nearly four years, I had read about the ‘Global Opening/Closing’ feature but had never seen the need for it. However, one day out of curiosity I decided to see how it functioned. Having previously seen the ability to enable it in settings in the Pivi system, I checked that it was enabled and went about testing it. As I stood alongside my vehicle, I pressed and held the Unlock button on the key fob and watched as all the windows lowered. ‘Cool’, I thought, it does work. I then pressed and held the Lock button, and watched as the windows raised. ‘Great’, success with trying out something new, although I figured that would be my one and only use of it as I couldn’t imagine a need to use it in the future. Well, that night we had torrential rains. Southern Florida rain, for those who understand the severity of one of these. Next morning go out to get in the Defender and upon opening the drivers door, was greeted with the sight of several inches of rain on both drivers and passengers side floors, and the same in the rear seat floors. The console was filled with water, the seats were wet, and as I looked in horror at the scene I was met with, I was sick to my stomach. My gorgeous, lovingly cared for Defender was a mobile swimming pool. Apparently, as I watched the windows raise from outside the vehicle several feet away, the sunroof did not close. Looking up, all I could see was sky. It was wide open to the downpour. My only recourse was to grab my wet/dry shop vac and begin the painstaking task of sucking up all the water, which took hours. Laying large beach towels on the seats to absorb as much water as I could, and mopping up the water from every crevice was painful, as I replayed my actions using this ‘feature’ in my head. After I had removed all the water to the best of my ability, I set the car up in my garage and opened all the doors and placed several large fans, one being a commercial air-mover, to keep a strong flow of air moving to ward off mold or mildew. I kept it like this for several days, but had immediately ordered a box of damp-rid desiccant bags which I hung in several spots throughout the vehicle, constantly replacing them when they filled with water. In the end, everything dried out fully, there is no odor, and there were no other issues, either electrically, electronically, or functionally. Of course, that will be the last time I use that feature, but I hope this serves as a warning to others to beware when using the Global Open/Close. Additionally, I now use the Remote app to review that the vehicle is locked, and view the Closed/Locked status of the windows/doors/bonnet/sunroof/rear hatch.

I had a leaky windshield on my 22 where water came in right above the rear view mirror.

Took it to the dealer, they had a new windshield installed in a week with no issues since. 100% covered under warranty.

Humm... this is the second thread I read about this issue with new Defenders. As a possible buyer I don't like this. It's a quality control issue and hopefully not a design issue. Those Slovaks can't drop the ball like this... are they known to like Vodka as much as Russians? This brings to mind the "were your car built on a friday" question that plagued US domestic brands for decades.

There was a prior thread I just read from 2024 it was a sunroof drain issue being clogged. That popped into my head immediately when I read his symptoms but he only had 1000 miles on the vehicle and also not common at that age as nashvegas says as well. If was a design issue you would hear from more than 2 people.

Hey all, parked in the defender as we speak. Faulty windshield from factory is what I’m told. They water and soap tested and noted a leak at the top right. Getting replaced under warranty at no cost. Bummed as I have ppf on the windshield, but it is what it is

Glad you are getting it fixed under warranty. I would try and get the dealer to include a new ppf for your windshield. Al they can say is no sorry canot cover that under warranty. Worth a shot.

So as I suspected, quality control issue.... I'm glad they took care of you, though. 👍

already tried no luck. Honestly with all the stories of multiple windshields needing replaced on these bad boys I may just opt on it this go around
